At first, the staff thought the dog was simply curious. But instead of leaving, he limped forward, determined to reach the counter where Ferreira stood. Stopping halfway, he lifted his injured paw as if asking for help.
“When he came in, he put the injured paw forward, as if to say hello and to show that he was hurting,” Ferreira told The Dodo. “We were surprised because he knew where to ask for help.”
Without hesitation, Ferreira welcomed the brave dog. She gently guided him toward the area where he could receive care. His trust in her was instant and unshakable. This touching moment was captured by the clinic’s surveillance camera, forever preserving the dog’s plea for help.
A Visit That Saved His Life
Ferreira quickly took the stray into the examination room. With complete trust, he offered his paw, allowing her to examine it without resistance. Fortunately, the injury was not severe. Yet Ferreira decided to perform a full health check just to be safe.
During the examination, she discovered something more serious: the dog had a transmissible venereal tumor, a common but curable condition among stray dogs. Thanks to his brave decision to seek help, he received the treatment he desperately needed.
Without wasting any time, Ferreira hospitalized the dog and began a 30-day treatment plan, including chemotherapy. Remarkably, the dog, now named Quindim, tolerated the treatment well and made a swift recovery.
“He doesn’t even look sick. He just is so excited to be around people who care about him,” Ferreira shared with The Dodo.
Fame Finds Quindim
After Quindim’s incredible story was posted on Facebook, it quickly went viral. The footage of his brave entrance touched hearts around the world. As his story spread, the clinic began receiving countless inquiries about adopting him.
The once-forgotten stray was now the center of attention. What began as a desperate search for help turned into a life full of love and care. Soon, Quindim found his forever home with a family that adored him.

About a year after Quindim’s visit, Vet Vip Clinic celebrated his journey on their Instagram profile. “The day he conquered the world 😍 today he is full of love and cuddles with his family. Quindim has gained weight and is showing good health,” they wrote.
