However, the staff at the shelter, unaware of the deep bond between the two dogs, placed them in separate kennels next to each other. While they were still close by, the separation didn’t sit well with Brenda. The bond the two had formed on the streets was unbreakable, and being apart was simply too much for Brenda to bear.
Brenda’s Determined Leap
Determined to stay close to Linda, Brenda made an incredible decision. Despite the odds, she leaped over the five-foot cement wall of her kennel to join her friend. Her determination was clear – nothing would keep her away from her buddy.

The following day, Kathy Walker and her husband, who had recently lost their beloved dog Sampson, decided to visit the shelter after seeing the video of Brenda and Linda. Initially, they hadn’t considered adopting another dog so soon, but something about the Pittie duo touched their hearts.
After spending just thirty minutes with Brenda and Linda, Kathy and her husband knew they were the perfect fit for the dogs. “The day before, I didn’t want any other dog,” Kathy said. “We had lost our dog after thirteen and a half years… The fact that Brenda had to take care of Linda, I thought to myself – and this is gonna sound corny – I really thought Sampson had something to do with this.”
It didn’t take long for Kathy and her husband to complete the adoption process, and soon, Brenda and Linda were off to their new forever home.

Now living happily with their new pawrents, Brenda and Linda are thriving in an environment where they can be together, just as they always wanted. They are finally in a safe and loving home where their bond is cherished. Brenda, who once leaped over walls to stay close to her friend, no longer has to worry about being separated from Linda.
When asked if she thought Brenda would become an escape artist, Kathy laughed and responded, “I don’t think she’s gonna be one of those escape artists because as long as she sees Linda, she’s all good!”
